Cornwall Ave at 40mm

Cornwall Ave at 40mm

Today I walked the spine of my city, listening to my favorite tunes, from the green hush of Cornwall Park down the long imperfect artery of Cornwall Ave to Glass Beach and back. I shot everything that pulled at my eyes. No overthinking. No hunting for perfection. 40mm on the Ricoh GRIIIX feels close enough to be intimate, wide enough to tell the truth. I played with multiple exposures and had a lot of fun in the process. It was great “exposure therapy” as I recover from a recent destabilization of my mental health.

Only one rule, I couldn’t shoot pointing my camera across the street.

A photowalk isn’t about finding something beautiful; it’s about admitting what already is. Today, Cornwall was raw and ordinary and quietly electric.

It was written with care and intention, grounded in my love, compassion, vulnerability, and gratitude.
It reflects my healing, my recovery, my acceptance, and my commitment to accountability and ownership, and to making amends through the way I choose to live my life today.
